Placebo- Song To Say Goodbye

This music video was written and directed by Philippe Andre. It starts off with a shot of a child driving a car and an adult, who seems like his father, sitting in the back seat. The child looks in the rear-view at the father as if he is looking after him. This represents a type of role reversal. The father seems depressed and suicidal and keeps breaking down. The young boy might be a young carer as he is always comforting him and having to act older than he is. The video shows the role reversal of a parent and child relationship and how the parent is sometimes the dependant one for some things. I really like the narrative in this video as it is quite different and very emotional. It is also like a shot film rather than a music video, however it relates to the song lyrics and gives it another meaning that is quite unexpected.
